On The Radar: Melody's Echo Chamber

She's back! It has been 6 years since Melody Prochet of Melody's Echo Chamber released her breakthrough record and I couldn't be more excited after the announcement was made she would be releasing her long-awaited sophomore album, Bon Voyage. If you were unaware or don't follow her, her 2nd album was originally set to be released back in 2017, but due to an unknown serious accident, it became delayed and the future of her album was unknown. Her upcoming tour was cancelled and it was unsure of what was to come from the singer or if she would ever return to music. Upon recovering, she eventually announced in March of this year that she would be releasing her album, exciting fans from all over the world.

Is this the return of Melody Prochet?

What I love most about Bon Voyage is that it breaks her away from having constantly being tied to Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, the producer from her first album. In this album, she moved to Sweden and collaborated with Fredrik Swahn and Reine Fiske of Dungen. Still keeping close to her French roots, she incorporated psychedelic guitars and flute solos with a mix of Swedish and English to make a beautiful and eccentric record.

My interpretation of Bon Voyage shows someone who has gone through a lot of pain, but also had some sense of hope. This album can be an inspiration to almost anyone. It was simply a dream for me.

What are your thoughts on this album?
